Solanum lycopersicum
Co-operation with tomaten-aus-kurpfalz.de, wild - hardy - delicious
The Bolivian fruit tomato has many small 1 - 2 cm large yellow fruits with a very fine fruity sweet flavour. The typical ‘children's snack tomato’ is easy to eat from the bush and produces a very rich harvest. This rewarding plant grows to a height of 1.50 to 1.80 metres and can be grown on multiple shoots. As it is probably very close to the wild form, it is very hardy, defying late blight on the one hand and coping very well with drought on the other. In dry conditions, it can simply be left to grow along the ground as a ground cover. In the rainy summer of 2021, this tomato variety was able to prove its blight tolerance outdoors. Although some leaves are affected, this variety is so robust and vigorous that it ‘outgrows’ the blight pathogen.
